Coordinators Updates

COMMUNITY

  • Canadian businesses

    • Highlighting members, 1 in each provinces and territories, about how they handled COVID and tips they may have for upcoming winter 

    • Been hard trying to get a hold of members 

    • Need help connecting with members in the Maritimes, Territories and Saskachewan 

  • Volunteer Campaign

    • Highlighting past volunteers with SCA Canada

    • To be completed by end of October 

  • Membership Journey

    • Will reach out to Sheila & Mansi from SCA to understand membership onboarding process and overall journey 

EDUCATION

  • Covid Protocols 

    • Creation of documents for competitions by the end of 2021

  • Professional Development - Judges Training Program 

    • Reached out to Britney from Discovery & Mike from Swiss Water

    • Coordinating meetings past head judges - been hard to get a hold of them

    • Creation of possibly a structure to become a head judge by end of 2021 

    • Creation of possibly a screening tests for volunteers to be judges by end of 2021

COMPETITION

  • Near completion of sponsorship deck 

  • Currently in talks with RC Show & Beanstock for 2022 competitions for Worlds 2022

    • Cup Tasters

    • Barista

    • Brewers

  • Publish competition dates to SCA Canada general calendar once finalized 

  • Debated on having qualifiers for Barista competitions if interest is low

MARKETING

  • Near completion of sponsorship deck design 

  • Website

    • Harry from Pilot to lead on SCA Canada’s website

    • UX, content have been updated

    • Mobile friendly 

  • Reached out to Grant, past SCA Marketing Coordinator

    • Suggestion of Townhall style

    • Scheduled to do it on Instagram Oct 21, 5:00pm est

COMMUNICATION

  • Intro campaign to start when Facebook/Instagram goes back up 

NATIONAL

  • Financials

    • SCA Canada bank account finalized with RBC. Could not get Credit Card because SCA Canada is formally an Unincorporated Association

    • Reached out to Jen from 8 Ounce to transfer SCA Canada funds into new bank account

    • Reached out to Jeremy, formally National Coordinator, to discuss loose end from previous terms 

    • Finalizing 2022 budget to be published EOY

    • Looking into grants to help support 2022 budget 

  • Researched on Non-Profit & Charity status for SCA Canada. Topic to further discuss about in 2022
