Part 2/2. @alexlee130 is the Canadian Rep for @strongholdcanada based in Halifax, NS. He is no stranger to the competition circuit being that he is @sca_canada Competition Coordinator. Working with @alexlee130, you can see his heart is there for our competitors. From coordinating the competitions to advocating for the competitors to have what they need to compete. That includes contributing to the flights and accommodation for our champs in Milan, Italy. Thanks @alexlee130 for always being there for them and us.

Part 1/2. @hostmilano has come and gone, but what remained was the experience we’ve shared in rooting for our champs. There’s no doubt though that these types of events would not be possible without the financial support of our sponsors. Yes this is a post shouting out to the sponsors that helped flew and accommodated our 3 champs to Milan, Italy. But what we’d also like to highlight are the people behind these companies, who worked in the background to make this all possible. You may have seen them around in coffee community events. @eugeniosanremo is the Owner of @geniuscoffee based in Vancouver. @sca_canada and @sanremocanada have partnered together since 2019 as they have become the official equipment sponsor for our Barista Competitions. Throughout the past 2 years, it has been a treat working alongside @eugeniosanremo and his team. The dedication they put into making sure the events were a hit and the equipment running smoothly was quite evident in how successful these past competitions were. But what was truly inspiring was to see the passion he has for the coffee community to grow and flourish. Thank you so much Eugenio for believing in @sca_canada and for supporting our champs. March 2020. The last time we were together rooting our fellow colleagues as they compete for the national barista title. It’s been invigorating for the community to rally together again. Resparking our curiosity and joy in a craft we all love. Thank you @kaycoffeeandart, @jillhoff and @coffeewithply for representing Canada with passion, enthusiasm and most importantly with such authenticity. We are very proud of you. Thank you @alexlee130 for providing us with a glimpse at what it’s like at @worldcoffeechampionships and for supporting our competitors.

Ply’s @coffeewithply only been in the coffee industry for 3 years and already he’s not only our brewer’s champ but he was the Aeropress @aeropress champ too. Coincidence? We think not. Like a ⭐️ he came bursting into the Canadian competition scene. Not only is Jill @jillhoff a seasoned competitor, she also judged and volunteered her time in other SCA competitions. We are so grateful to have Jill in our community and for breaking the glass ceiling for our fellow baristas.
